Job Title: Intune Administrator & Packaging Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Intune Administrator & Packaging Specialist to manage and optimize the company’s Intune environment, deploy Autopilot profiles, and create packages for a seamless user experience. In this role, you will be responsible for the migration of Active Directory (AD) groups to Microsoft Intune policies, implementing security best practices, including Just-In-Time (JIT) privilege escalation, and ensuring efficient application packaging and deployment. Responsibilities:

Active Directory to Intune Migration:

  • Lead the migration from Active Directory (AD) groups to Intune policies and configuration profiles.

  • Ensure a smooth transition and integration while minimizing downtime or service disruptions.

  • Develop and implement policies for device management, security, and application deployments using Intune.

Intune Administration:

  • Administer and maintain the organization’s Intune environment to ensure efficient management of mobile devices, applications, and users.

  • Configure and deploy policies for device compliance, application security, and conditional access.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to device provisioning, policies, and user enrollment.

Autopilot Deployment:

  • Configure, implement, and manage Windows Autopilot profiles to enable zero-touch provisioning for end-user devices.

  • Customize Autopilot profiles for different user groups, departments, and security needs.

  • Monitor and resolve issues with Autopilot deployments and device configurations.

Just-In-Time (JIT) Privilege Escalation:

  • Configure and maintain Just-In-Time (JIT) access policies to ensure that users can escalate privileges only when necessary and with proper approval.

  • Monitor JIT access events and ensure compliance with internal security policies.

  • Collaborate with security teams to improve privilege management processes.

Application Packaging and Deployment:

  • Package applications for deployment through Microsoft Intune, including Win32 app packages, MSI installations, and app bundles.

  • Create and maintain PowerShell scripts for application customization and configuration.

  • Work with internal teams to identify and package required applications for deployment.

  • Conduct thorough testing of packaged applications in various environments to ensure compatibility with different devices and operating systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve packaging and deployment issues, ensuring compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Deployment and Management:

  • Configure and manage application deployment through Intune.

  • Set up and maintain application assignment policies to ensure smooth user adoption.

  • Monitor application installation status and resolve any deployment issues.

Documentation and Process Improvement:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for packaging processes, application deployment, and device management.

  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for application packaging, deployment, and Intune policy management.

  • Stay updated with the latest Intune features, packaging techniques, and best practices, and implement improvements as needed.

Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Security, HR) to ensure the smooth implementation of policies and security measures.

  • Generate and maintain reports on device health, compliance, and security posture.

  • Provide training and documentation for internal teams regarding new policies, system configurations, and application packaging procedures.


Requirements:

Experience:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Intune administration and device management.

  • Solid understanding of Active Directory (AD) and migration techniques to Intune.

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Autopilot, including device provisioning, configuration, and deployment.

  • Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) privilege escalation and role-based access controls (RBAC).

  • Strong ability to create, configure, and deploy custom software packages using Intune (e.g., MSI, EXE, PowerShell scripts).

  • Experience with security best practices, compliance policies, and conditional access configurations in Intune.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automating administrative tasks and deploying custom packages.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and cloud-based device management.

  • Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, macOS, and mobile device management.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive) and their integration with Intune.

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (optional, but preferred).

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (preferred).

  • Other relevant certifications in systems administration, security, or cloud technologies are a plus.
