Situation

Our client, a Fortune 100 global technology firm wanted to streamline creative processes across business units to optimize creative project costs, improve asset quality and accelerate its marketing operations. Their Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems managed approximately 1.8M digital assets of 50 TB of data which was stored across multiple DAM solutions and cloud storage with varied metadata.

Productivity surges with DAM migration

TCO reduced on DAM system using SaaS deployment model.

The legacy DAM was on-prem and self-hosted which led to higher TCO due to frequent patches and upgrades. It performed poorly due to decentralized storage and junk metadata accumulation. The manual product-to-asset association process was error prone.

Action

Infogain migrated assets and metadata to a SaaS-based DAM system (Acquia DAM), then cleaned up and consolidated metadata fields during migration to bring in clean data to the new system. We consolidated assets from 2 DAM systems into 1 DAM. This involved multiple integrations with cloud-based and on-prem legacy systems. AEM assets were consolidated in Acquia DAM.

We implemented asset origination workflow on Adobe Workfront, bringing all users to a single platform. Project plan templates for various creative projects were streamlined, bringing predictability to the asset creation process. To accelerate the distribution process, integrations with downstream systems and automation of workflows using Adobe Workfront were implemented.

We automated the product-to-asset association process and built highly modular and configurable downstream integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint iPaaS Platform.

Results

  • Simple user interface and faster searches with Acquia DAM.
  • Predictability of asset origination workflow with pre-defined templates.
  • Accurate data with automated product-to-asset association process.
  • Reduced total cost of ownership on DAM system using SaaS deployment model.
