Client Background
Our client operates hundreds of wholesale membership warehouses worldwide. They provide a wide
selection of brand name merchandise, specialty departments and exclusive member services.
Business & Technical Challenges
Our client’s 80 million members access an eCommerce website for merchandise, travel and other
services. They have two eCommerce systems (B2C and business delivery) in which member’s identity
were managed separately. In addition, security management and synchronization of member’s
identity would frequently fail, causing customer dissatisfaction. Additional challenges included:
- Business to consumer (B2C) and business delivery (BD) ID systems consistently failed when
updating credentials for purchase of products or services - BC and BD systems lacked “just in time” migration capability
- Internal IT teams encountered difficulties managing the two systems and tracking members’ IDs
that failed to synchronize correctly - Existing systems lacked security with inadequate validation for policies against a large distributed
user base
